Northern enemy of Estcarp. First mention of actual war with Alizon is in Web of the Witch World. Aided by the Kolder, Alizon harries the borders of Estcarp north of the Fens of Tor. The Hounds of Alizon are known for their hunting hounds similar to today's greyhounds; "They were thin, white animals, their lanky bodies turning with almost boneless fluidity as they came to the valley wall." Cave of Volt - Witch World (1963)
Where Koris of Gorm obtained the Axe of Volt, one of the Four Great Weapons of Witch World. Mentioned briefly in other novels of the series.
Citadel of Hilarion - Sorceress of the Witch World (1968)
Residence of Hilarion, one of the great Adepts of Witch World. Kaththea, daughter of Simon and Jaelithe, rescues Hilarion from another world and eventually becomes his partner in holding the Dark away from Escore.
Cynan's Hold - The Key of the Keplian (1995)
Cynan was one of the last Old Race remaining in Karsten. Cynan's Hold is located in the northeastern wilderness of Karsten bordering Escore. This isolation made it possible for Eleeri to remain with Cynan and learn the languages of her new world.

Where Kemoc met the Mosswives and received directions to find Loskeetha. Loskeetha, he hoped would help him save his sister Kaththea from the evil clutches of the wannabe adept Denzil holing up in the Dark Tower.

Marked on a different Witch World map as 'Evil Wood' a much more appropriate name. A forest of unusually noxious trees and undergrowth. The Tregarths and Ayllia skirt this forest on their way back to Escore.

Ancient castle which is the repository of scrolls of learning, genealogy, and daily journals. The main building is possibly the oldest in Estcarp pre-dating the arrival of the Guardians of Power.
Old Port - Sorceress of the Witch World (1968)
Ancient port on the far eastern shore of Escore. "It is much good, this place, when there are no raiders." Bahayi of the Vupsall. The port is often visited by raiders whom Kaththea thinks could be related to the Sulcar.
Place of Healing - Three Against the Witch World (1965), 'Ware Hawk (1983)
Pools of red, bubbling mud can knit broken bones and bring one close to death back to health. Used by all inhabitants of Escore.

These menhirs first bring Stonehenge to mind, but remember, there are many other places of stone scattered around our known world.

Ancient camp of the Vuspalls, and perhaps others, located in a deep funnel shaped valley amidst glacier peaks.
Verlaine - Witch World (1963), Web of the Witch World (1964)
Independent city of 'wreckers.' Styled on the fabled wreckers of Cornwall. Birthplace and early home of Lady Loyse of Verlaine, consort of Koris of Gorm and widow of the late unlamented Yvian, Duke of Karsten. Below the castle of Verlaine is a cave containing a shrine to unknown 'old ones.' The power there appears to be older and different than that of the Witches of Estcarp.
